A family story. A creative tradition. A little more sunshine.

Sunshine Shop Studios began with a story that started long before the shop itself.

​

In 1967, at just 19 years old, our dad opened his first gift shop, The Sunshine, in Austin, Texas. It was a place shaped by his creativity, curiosity, and eye for things that could bring a little joy to someone’s day.

​

That spirit stayed with our family.

​

Growing up, creativity was something we shared together—from art projects and making things by hand to simply finding new ways to turn an idea into something special. Our dad encouraged that creative spirit, and although he passed away 15 years ago, the things he loved continue to influence us today.

​

Sunshine Shop Studios is our way of carrying that tradition forward.

​

Based in Houston, Texas, since 2011, our family-run shop brings together a growing collection of handmade creations, original photography and art, gifts, and special finds chosen or created with care. Some pieces are made by us, some are inspired by our own creative work, and others are carefully selected because they make us smile—and we hope they make you smile, too.

​

Our candles are hand-poured in small batches, our artwork draws from the places and things that inspire us, and our collections are always evolving.

 

As Sunshine Shop Studios grows, we hope to create more together and eventually feature special creations made by members of our family.

​

At its heart, this shop is about creativity, family, and bringing a little happiness into everyday life.

​

The name Sunshine Shop Studios is a tribute to our dad and the little shop he opened as a teenager more than half a century ago. The photograph captures a piece of that history: our dad and friends standing in front of The Sunshine in Austin, Texas, circa 1967.

He started his first shop at 19. We're carrying the sunshine forward.
